Yoni Asseraf served in the Special Forces of the Paratroopers, in the Reconnaissance Unit.

During the 2006 Second Lebanon War, he demonstrated exceptional heroism under fire, for which he was awarded the Medal of Courage. Since Israel's founding in 1948, only 218 individuals have received this honor, and very few survived the events themselves to later tell their story.

Following the war, the IDF asked Yoni to begin sharing his experiences with soldiers. What started as a single mission evolved into hundreds of talks across the military, and later expanded to pre-military academies, schools, and organizations in Israel and the United States. For more than sixteen years, Yoni delivered these talks voluntarily, inspiring the next generation to feel deeply connected to Israel and to their own inner strength.

After completing his military service, Yoni joined the Shin Bet, Israel's counterterrorism agency, where he worked in some of the most complex and sensitive environments around the world.

When war erupted on October 7, Yoni immediately returned from Los Angeles to rejoin his team, fighting first in Gaza, later in Lebanon, and then again in Syria.

Yoni holds degrees in Law and Business, practiced as an attorney for six years, and later founded a technology startup, receiving patents in both Israel and the United States.

In mid-2023, Yoni chose to dedicate himself to this mission full-time, sharing lessons of resilience, courage, and the human spirit. Today, alongside his speaking engagements, he brings firsthand insight to U.S. policymakers, helping shape informed and meaningful conversations around Israel and the region, and mentors young American volunteers before they move to Israel, giving them the mental clarity and confidence needed for meaningful service in the IDF.

Yoni is currently writing his first book, a deeply human work that brings together stories and insights from across his life, including moments formed in rare, high-stakes environments, transforming them into meaningful lessons for the reader. The book is planned for release in late 2026.
